Meet Spencer!

If you can't tell by the picture -- I get a bit hammy after playing with makeup. It's fun and it's inspiring. It makes me feel good. I realize makeup isn't for everyone. I know plenty of women that just don't like the feel of it. And that's perfectly alright! I find makeup to be like a type of dessert, you have to have the developed taste for it.
As far back as I can remember, I've been interested in makeup. Granted, I was never a guru or junkie. I didn't really familiarize myself with too many brands until 2003. That was when I really started to branch out. I let go of the ordinary, and instead I sought something more.
When I was a preteen my Mother tried to help me with makeup. For a while, I followed her regimen and routine. However, my Mother's style was intended to be worn by an adult business woman. When I look back at some of those older pictures, I nearly scream! All I see is a mess of blush -- and plum colored lip sticks. Shadow swept over the lid (minus blending) and a touch of mascara...
Yes, it was as awful as it sounds.
Fast forward time, and you'll find me acting as the leading expert in my household on brand name cosmetics -- and proper application technique. Makeup really is an art
. One that enhances over time. The more I practice it, the more I perfect my skills.
Though I now offer services, I am still learning. Which is pretty darn exciting. Some things really surprise me about makeup. I have a new routine for priming my face -- that I just recently developed. I'm absolutely in love with the way I set my face for the day. Prior to my new routine, I was very happy with the way I looked when I went out.
But now -- aside from looking good for myself and for others, I want to 'feel' good. Which is the wonder I achieved when I started incorporating -- toner on a regular basis along with another key ingredient, THEN my primer.
I now swear by it.
Plus my clients really enjoy the feel of their mini facial before the application process.
I love makeup. In fact half the time I have far too much of it. For the last few years, I've been called upon to do makeup for friends and family when they wanted to look extra special. (Formal dances, weddings, photos & print.) I never really thought I could make a business out of my hobby -- but here I am.
As a makeup artist my portfolio is ever changing. In the next few months, I fully intend on having professional print photos taken of some of my work. What I once deemed a hobby - has now become an investment opportunity.
Aside from the makeup aspect of my life. I'm your typical less than average kind of gal. I'm a total dork about lots of things. I probably don't look much like a Star Wars fanatic - but I am!
I love to read, write & sing. I'm outgoing but only to a certain extent.
At any rate, those that pair up with me are in for quite the treat. So brace yourself for a good time!
